While streaming through youtube last night, I came across a favourite but forgotten ad of Mobilink Jazz featuring Fawad Khan, Wasim Akram, Ayesha Omer etc. I clicked the link, and instantly each word of the jingle came rushing through my memory and took voice! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fww0tn4OsLU&feature=related
It left me with comparing the Aur Sunao and Jazba Jagao campaigns. As I recollected, I found Aur Sunao ads to be more vibrant and enjoyable, having more elements of product recall as compared to the Jazba ads which to me seem quite mundane. They aren't built upon any striking concepts and mostly go unnoticed.
The recent animated Ali Zafar ad, though gives a break to this lame Jazba series but honestly even its execution is very typical and leaves much to be desired! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fi7bQQ5fjRg

I absolutely loved the Aur Sunao ads - specially this ad. Look at the great names associated with Jazz back then, Fawad, Wasim Akram, Shafquat Amanat Ali on vocals! Jazz Bananas is, to me, nothing but a joke - its so mediocre and illogical. The animations are over-done and they could have easily done with a shorter animated clip!

I completely agree with Taha Jazz Bananas does not makes sense at all. i don't understand the concept

ReplyDeleteTo be very frank, I never had been a fan of Jazz ads, they are not as memorable as their competitor's ads (exceptions being one or two like Wasim Akram one). "Aur Sunao" were somehow still better than the "Such Jazba" crap they are pulling off. IMO, Jazz ads would have the lowest recall among all Cellphone service providers ... only thing that saves them is Celebrities they hire... Rest just blends in the clutter.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing good about the "Such Jazba" commercials is the song sung by Ali Azmat.... it captures the true zeal of the word "Jazba"
